- Grease pans w/nonfat cooking spray instead of
butter.
- Use nonfat whipped toppings, instead of icing on
cakes.
- Sprinkle nuts on top, instead of mixing them into the
batters, of home baked desserts. Toast them to maximize their flavor
impact.
- Substitute 6 egg whites plus 1 whole egg for every 3
eggs in your favorite recipes.
- Substitute apple sauce for some of the oil in your
favorite recipes. Try replacing half the oil w/the same amount of apple
sauce.
- Look for recipes using cocoa powder in place of
chocolate. (The fat found in chocolate is in the cocoa butter, not in the
powder)
- Prepare a homemade fruit salad instead of an apple
pie.
- Make your own milk shake. Mix nonfat yogurt, skim
milk, ice, bananas & berries in a blender
