Congo Bars

2 1/2 cup flour
2 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup shortening
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 package chocolate bits (10-12 oz)
1 box lt. brown sugar (1 pound)

1. Melt shortening.
2. Add brown sugar.
3. Beat.
4. Add eggs.
5. Add dry ingrediants, vanilla and chocholate bits.
6. Pour into greased pan.
7. Bake at 350F for 35 minutes testing with toothpick for doneness.
8. When cool, cut into 40-48 pieces.
