NO-PEEK STEW

 2 lbs Stewing beef, cut up in big pieces
1 Jar Garden cocktail (zesty) or vegetable juice
3 Tbsp Minute Tapioca
1 Tbsp White sugar
1-1/2 tsp Salt
1 Tbsp Chili powder
dash Ground cloves

Use heavy casserole or Dutch oven.  To meat, add vegetables;  potatoes, carrots, onions, celery, turnip, green pepper, etc., in big chunks.  Add tapioca, sugar, spices to juice and pour over all.

Cover with tight lid; see that no steam escapes.  (Cover lid and casserole with foil to keep steam in.)

Cook in oven for 3 hours at 325-F.

Do not lift lid.

Do not peek.
